The University of Sant’Anselmo organizes continuing formation programs for Benedictine and Cistercian monks, nuns and oblates. Located in the heart of Rome on the Aventine Hill and operating as the International House of Studies and Headquarters of the Benedictine Confederation, Sant’Anselmo also organizes specific programs to assist monasteries of the Benedictine Confederation.
The programs have the following objectives:
- to respond to the spiritual, formative and professional needs of Benedictine monks and nuns,
- to help participants in our programs experience Benedictine holy sites, and
- to allow monks, nuns and oblates connect with one another in order to know how Benedictine life is lived in different congregations, countries and contexts.
In addition, we welcome participants to experience the unique common life of our international community: Classes, accommodations, Office of the Hours, Mass and community meals are offered together in our monastic environment.
