Orientation Offers New Residents Chance for Fellowship and Education into the Community Life at Sant’Anselmo

Sant’Anselmo hosted its annual week of orientation for its new residents from 30 September to 4 October. Throughout the week, various encounters were held to facilitate fellowship and orient residents to the important elements of community life at Sant’Anselmo. For example, residents attended presentations on how the Liturgy of Hours/Divine Office are prayed, a guided tour of the Basilica of Sant’Anselmo, and the workings of the Atheneum and the Atheneum library.

An excursion to Subiaco on Thursday 2 October gave residents the chance to celebrate the Holy Mass near the cave where St. Benedict lived for three years of his life. Tours of the cave frescoes and the monastery at Subiaco concluded the trip.

Finally, on Friday 4 October, the Most Reverend Abbot Primate Gregory Polan OSB officially welcomed and addressed the incoming residents before the academic semester commenced on Monday 7 October.
