Welcome to the Teaching of Catholic Religion in Italian Schools
At Sant’Anselmo, it is possible to follow integrative courses that — together with the academic degrees of Baccalaureate, Licentiate and Doctorate in Theology, or Licentiate and Doctorate in Sacred Liturgy — permit the teaching of Catholic religion in Italian schools of every order and degree.
On 28 June 2012, the agreement between the Italian State and the Italian Episcopal Conference was signed regarding the professional qualification profiles of Catholic religion teachers.
According to this agreement, every academic qualification in theology or liturgy provides the possibility of teaching Catholic religion in Italian schools of every order and degree.
To teach Catholic religion in an Italian school, however, the interested student must follow courses that the Ateneo has undertaken to provide in a manner complementary to those indicated by the Secretary General of the CEI, in a letter dated 20 July 2012, prot. N. 563/2012, as “important disciplines as directed by the IRC”.
These lessons are offered over a 3-year cycle. These courses, with the permission of the Dean or Preside, also may be included within the number of elective courses of the plan of studies.
