Nel 2025 ricorre l’anniversario del primo Concilio ecumenico di Nicea. Il suo significato per la teologia e nella storia della Chiesa è ampiamente riconosciuto, ma non viene necessariamente associato alla liturgia. Sulla scia di questo anniversario, il congresso riflette sulle implicazioni, le conseguenze e l’orientamento che i vari concili e sinodi hanno avuto sulla liturgia. Allo stesso modo, però, anche la liturgia celebrata nei/dei concili/sinodi è da considerare, essendo significativa per ciò che il sinodo vuol essere.

I vari contributi mirano a far luce su una base storica e teologico-ecclesiale, ma allo stesso tempo anche sulla sfida pastorale della «sinodalità come “dimensione costitutiva” della Chiesa» (ITC, La sinodalità nella vita e nella missione della Chiesa, 5).

The year 2025 marks the anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea. Its significance for theology and for Church history is widely acknowledged, but it is not necessarily associated with the liturgy. On the occasion of this anniversary, the congress wants to reflect on the effects, consequences and orientations that the various councils and synods have had on the liturgy. Equally, however, the liturgy celebrated at the councils or synods will be considered, which is relevant to what a synod is meant to be.
The various contributions aim to shed light on a historical and theological-ecclesiological foundation, but at the same time also on the pastoral challenge of «synodality as a “constitutive dimension” of the Church» (ITC, Synodality in the Life and Mission of the Church, 5).
